Product & Collection Description Section for Shopify

I use it on my own Shopify store

Most themes don't come with a description section. They only let you output the product description in a block, at the top-right of the page amongst the buy buttons and other info. 

That's a problem if you have a long description. It takes up too much space. 

I prefer to have a short summary at the top, and then a longer, detailed description as a full-width section lower on the page. That's what this section does.

This section outputs the main "Description" field from your product admin page. This is not a richtext section, nor is it some kind of secondary description.

You can also use it on collection pages

You can also use this section for your collection pages. It will output your main collection description.

Most themes will output your collection description at the top - above your product grid. The problem with this is that if it's too long it pushes the products down the page. But a longer description is the best thing for SEO!

Using this section you can instead display a quick summary at the top (using a richtext section), and output your main description below the product grid, making it as long and content-rich as you want.

Works on all themes

The section will inherit your theme's style settings automatically. The fonts, heading sizes, and colors should immediately be the same as the rest of your store.

Comes with settings to customize your store

• Container settings to line up with your theme
• Lots of padding and spacing control
• Add borders and change background colors
• Can be configured as a "card" like on my store

Simple install process:

1. Go to your Themes page and click "Edit Code".
2. Click "Add a new section" under the sections folder.
3. Paste in the code and save.

Now you can find the section in your theme customizer.
